These best practices are to ensure you get the best scans for your inspections and specifically for:
Contex: A2 and R44
Microtek: A0
Why Use this Feature?
Not properly following these tips can lead to the calibration failing. Unclean scanners, damaged calibration sheets, and failing to calibrate according to usage may cause issues with image stitching, which can cause the calibration to fail.
When To Use It
When image stitching occurs.
For camera alignment issues.
Expert Tips
If calibration fails, redo the calibration but ensure the marker placement is correct
Use the white microfiber fabric and isopropyl alcohol cleaner to clean:
Scanner glass
White rollers on the R44
White panel on the A2
Calibration sheet needs to be:
Preserved away from light
Kept in original packaging to be undamaged
Void of any creasing, tearing, or fading
Replaced annually
Calibration frequency is based on scanner usage:
If the scanner is running extensively from morning to night, perform weekly
If the scanner is running a few times per day, perform monthly
