How to Select the SMA Graphics Source

In order to run GVD using the SMA A0 scanner, it is necessary to install the plug-in SMA_x.x.x.x.exe. After the plug-in is installed,  two new sources will be present as shown below:

SMA Braille Scanner

SMA Graphics Scanner

Please select the appropriate source in order to inspect Braille height or Graphics & Print.

How to Inspect Graphics files

To inspect digital files only, please follow the same steps as outlined in the GVD user manual.

Click on   icon to load the Master and the Sample files and then click INSPECT. 

How to Inspect PDF vs Scan

To compare a PDF file to a scan, start by clicking on the Scanner icon  on the Sample screen.

Next, you will be prompted to select the PDF file.

Next, the scanning dialog box will apprear as shown below.

Select the desired Profile.

Note: Create new Profiles by clicking Manage.

Next, click on Scan.

After the scan is completed, click on Inspect.

To compare a scan to a scan, start by clicking on the Scanner icon  on the Master screen.

Select the desired Profile, then click Scan.

Next click on the Scanner icon on the Sample side .

You will be prompted to select the PDF file.

Click on Cancel. The message below will appear:

Click on Yes.

The scan will be initiated.

After the scan is completed, click on Inspect

How to Create a Profile

To manage profile for custom scanning, click on Manage.

To add a new profile, select Add.

Enter the Profile name and click OK.

Under Profile management, you be able to also Edit, Copy, Rename and Delete Profiles.

 How to Share Profiles

The profiles created may also be shared with other users on similar systems.

Use the Export and Import functions.
