Should I update the scanner software(s) if the GVD application is validated?

Issue: The scanner is facing performance issues such as not waking from sleep, the scanner cannot be found, overheating messages, etc. Can I update the scanner software(s) if the GVD application is validated?

Troubleshooting: One of the first steps when troubleshooting certain scanner issues is to verify if the customer has the latest scanner software versions: WideSystem, NextImage, and firmware. However, if the GVD application is validated, we CAN NOT update the scanner software(s).

This is because we record the scanner software versions during validation execution under the validation document “Installation Qualification Protocol.” Updating the scanner software(s) would nullify the validation executed.
