Prerequisites for a Digital to Scanned Physical Sample Inspection
Perform regular scanner calibration and follow artwork creation best practices for best digital to scanned physical sample inspection results.
Prerequisite #1: Perform regular scanner calibration
Certain scanners do not require calibration, while others do need regular calibrations.
Scanners that require regular calibration:
Roll scanners (R42, R44)
F0, F1, F2
C8
Scanners that do not require regular calibration:
F3/F4
B3 Booklet
It is recommended to conduct calibrations on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on the frequency of scanner usage.
For scanners in continuous operation throughout the day, weekly calibrations are advised.
For scanners used a few times daily, monthly calibrations are sufficient.
In case of calibration failure, repeat the process and ensure correct marker placement.
Use a white microfiber fabric along with isopropyl alcohol cleaner to clean the following components:
Scanner glass
White rollers on roll scanners (e.g. R44) and on the Fujitsu B3 Booklet
White panel on flatbed scanners (e.g. Contex A2)
Ensure the calibration sheet is:
Stored away from light
Kept in its original packaging to prevent damage
Free from creases, tears, or fading
Replaced annually (this is done with the Customer Success Manager on the annual contract renewal)
