GVD and PostgreSQL Upgrades

Question: Can I upgrade PostgreSQL myself? Or is the database backward compatible? For example, can I use the GVD Version 5.8.1.12 MAC client app with the updated v5.11 database computer?

Answer: Each version of GVD has its own version of PostgreSQL. It must match the PostgreSQL version provided with the GVD installer.

The Postgres version for:

  • GVD Version 5.9 is PostgreSQL: 11.11

  • GVD Version 5.10.0 is PostgreSQL: 11.13

  • GVD Version 5.11.0 is PostgreSQL: 11.15

  • GVD Version 5.12.0 is PostgreSQL: 11.17
